Warrior
The youngest son of an alcoholic former boxer returns home, where he's trained by his father for competition in a mixed martial arts tournament - a path that puts the fighter on a collision corner with his older brother.
I could not give a sh*t about boxing, but Warrior is just amazing. It's such a powerful family-drama. Tom Hardy steals every scene he's in, and gives his best performance since Bronson. Joel Edgerton is also excellent in the film. Nick Nolte knocks it out of the park as the alcoholic father who both of his sons don't care about. It's great watching Hardy knockout his opponents in one punch. There's a lot of touching moments that make you want to cry, and others that make you want to shout out in the theater "YEAH!". Just like Drive and 50/50, how the academy ignores great movies like this. I think this is a film everyone could enjoy, even if you don't care for sports movies. Warrior is my second favourite film of 2012 so far.
