Hugo
Set in 1930s Paris, an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton.
Hugo is a masterpiece. I loved every minute of this film. The cast's performances were pitch perfect. Asa Butterfield and Chloe Moretz as Hugo and Isabella are great. Ben Kingsley as Georges Melies, the once famous actor and director that now works in a gift shop at the train station, deserves a nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Also, Sacha Baron Cohen as the Train Station Inspector was awesome, and he isn't the silly villain like they show in the trailers. The 3D is some of the best I've ever seen. It's pacing is very slow and could bore a lot of people, especially young children, but as a huge cinephile like myself, I found the story so interesting. When Hugo's mystery is revealed, It has so much behind the whole thing, and is really unexpected. I would tell everyone to go and see this movie. Hugo is the best film of 2012 so far.
