the guest
A soldier introduces himself to the Peterson family, claiming to be a friend of their son who died in action. After the young man is welcomed into their home, a series of accidental deaths seem to be connected to his presence.
Violent, unpredictable and ridiculously entertaining. The Guest is an exciting, fun action psychological thriller. David, an ex-soldier and mysterious stranger played by Dan Stevens, shows up at the Peterson family home, claiming that he was friends with their son who died in action. David moves into the Peterson's home to look after and protect them. People start dying and Anna Peterson played by Maika Monroe, daughter of Laura Peterson played by Sheila Kelly, begins to suspect that David maybe involved with the deaths. Dan Stevens' performance is mesmerizing as David, the charismatic, psychopathic villain. The Guest's electronica soundtrack reminded me of the Drive soundtrack. After the tense, slow-burn first half, The Guest turns into a fast, action-packed, blood-soaked thrill-ride. I absolutely loved The Guest.
