Rampart
Set in 1999 Los Angeles, veteran police officer Dave Brown, the last of the renegade cops, works to take care of his family, and struggles for his own survival.
Rampart isn't the Dirty Harry action movie you would expect from the trailer. This is more of a arthouse drama. Woody Harrelson's gives a great performance as police officer Dave Brown, who beats a man almost to death, starting protests against the L.A. Police Department. He's hard to sympathies for because of how unlikable his character is. I love character piece movies and found Rampart interesting. Director Oren Moverman uses some stylish filmmaking that maybe too artsy for mainstream audiences and casual moviegoers. The ending was disappointing. The movie awkwardly comes to a stop intstead of a proper end. It's a flawed movie, but Woody Harrelson's performance and Oren Moverman's direction makes Rampart worth recommending.
